Zephyr Manga is a personal manga reader that connects to public manga APIs to fetch chapters and metadata. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Data We Collect

When you use Zephyr Manga, we may process the following information:

• Account data: if you create an account, we store your email address and a password hash. We never see or store your plain text password.
• Reading history and lists: manga you favorite, mark as reading, plan to read, complete, or drop, plus the chapters you open, are stored locally in your browser or tied to your account if you are logged in.
• Personalization signal: if you enable History suggestions in Settings, we also store how long you spend in each chapter, whether you finish chapters, and any thumbs up or down you give to suggestions. This data shapes personalized recommendations and is never shown to other users.
• Settings: provider toggles, title language preference, and other UI preferences are saved locally.
• Anonymous logs: the server writes a short access log entry containing the time, your IP address, the HTTP method, and the path you requested. These logs are used for abuse prevention, rate limiting, and diagnosing outages. They are never sold or shared.

How We Use Your Data

• To deliver chapters, covers, search results, and metadata from the manga providers you enable.
• To remember your place across sessions so you can continue reading where you left off.
• To build personalized suggestions when you opt in. We compare your reading time, completion, and ratings against title tags and metadata to rank what you might like next.
• To rate limit abusive traffic and protect the server and the upstream providers from misuse.
• To debug crashes, provider outages, and incorrect metadata.

Cookies and Local Storage

Zephyr Manga stores preferences, authentication tokens, and reading state in browser local storage. No third party advertising cookies are used. See the Cookie Policy for details.

Third Party Providers

Manga content is fetched from third party providers such as MangaDex. When you view a chapter, your browser requests images directly from those providers. Their own privacy policies apply to that traffic. We do not send your Zephyr Manga account details to any provider.

Data Retention

Access logs are kept for a short period and then deleted. Account data is kept as long as your account exists. Personalization signal is deleted when you turn History suggestions off or delete your account. Local storage data remains on your device until you clear it.

Your Choices

• You can clear your browser storage at any time to remove local history and preferences.
• You can use Zephyr Manga without an account; reading history will be stored only in your browser.
• You can disable any content provider in Settings at any time.
• Personalization is opt-in. Turn off History suggestions in Settings and we stop collecting reading time, completion, and ratings. Existing personalization data is cleared.

Acceptable Use

• You may use Zephyr Manga to read manga and light novels that are made available through the configured content providers.
• You may not scrape, mirror, or systematically download content for redistribution.
• You may not attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or any security mechanism.
• You may not use the service to host, transmit, or facilitate illegal content or activity.

Content and Copyright

Zephyr Manga does not host manga content itself. Chapters and covers are fetched on demand from third party providers and displayed through their public APIs. All rights to manga, covers, and translations belong to their respective copyright holders. If you are a rights holder and believe content should not be accessible through this instance, contact the operator with a takedown request and the source will be removed from the provider list.

No Warranty

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Availability may be interrupted by provider outages, rate limits, or maintenance. We do not guarantee that any particular manga, chapter, or page will always be reachable.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. The operator may disable accounts that are used to violate these terms or to attack the service.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Zephyr Manga uses minimal storage on your device to keep the reader working smoothly. This policy explains what is stored and why.

What We Store

• Local storage: your settings, authentication token (if logged in), reading history, favorites, and list state are stored in browser local storage so they persist between visits.
• Personalization signal: when you enable History suggestions, reading time, chapter completion, and suggestion ratings are stored on the server against your account. They are removed when you turn the feature off.
• Image token: a short lived token used to authorize image requests to the content proxy. It expires automatically and contains no personal data.

What We Do Not Use

• No advertising cookies.
• No cross site tracking cookies.
• No third party analytics scripts.

Managing Storage

You can clear all Zephyr Manga data from your browser settings at any time. Clearing storage will log you out and reset your reading history and preferences.

You may also block all browser storage for this site. The reader will still work, but your history and settings will not persist between sessions.
